Australian Chinese Daily Readers’ Activity – Lucky Draw to WIN 2 return Economy class tickets from Melbourne or Sydney to Hong Kong

  • The Promoter of the Lucky Draw Promotion is the Australian Chinese Daily (ACD).
  • Entry is open to the residents of Australia over the age of 18 years, excluding Australian Chinese Daily, Virgin Australia, Travel agent employees and officers or any agency associated with this promotion and their immediate families.
  • We reserve the right to verify the validity of participants at any time during or after the period of promotion and reserve the right to disqualify any participant who is not eligible in accordance with these terms and conditions.
  • Enter the Lucky Draw by completing and submitting online an entry form with all information including title, full name, email address, age, contact number, and a Virgin Australia “booking reference/e-Ticket number” for a return flight from Melbourne or Sydney to Hong Kong, for departure from 16 July 2019 until 30 November 2019; and/or you can also submit an entry with the Australian Chinese Daily “Promo Code” for one more chance to win.
  • Entry form is available at ACD: www.acd.com.au 
  • The participant submitted more than one entry can only be one of the two winners in the Lucky Draw Promotion if he/she wins.
  • The Promotion commences on 22 June 2019 at 9.00 am AEST and concludes on 10 August 2019 at 5.00 pm AEST.
  • The draw will be conducted on 15 August 2019 at 11.00 am AEST at 327 Sussex Street Sydney NSW 2000
  • Winners will be published in The Australian Chinese Daily on 19 August 2019 and be notified via the email address or contact number provided in the online Lucky Draw entry form.
  • If the prize is not claimed within 5 days of publication, a redraw will be conducted. If required, the redraw will be conducted on 26 August 2019 at11:00 am at 327 Sussex Street Sydney NSW 2000
  • A redrawn Winner will be notified by phone within 1 days of the draw, and in writing within 2 days of draw. The name and address of the re-drawn Winner will be published in the ACD website and newspaper on 27 August 2019.
  • There will be two Winners. Each Winner will receive ONE return Economy class ticket from Melbourne or Sydney to Hong Kong with the ticket expiry on 30 November 2019. 
  • Average total prize value of each ticket is $790 AUD.  The prize is not exchangeable, not transferable and cannot be taken as cash.
  • Flights are subject to Virgin Australia’s conditions of carriage which are located on the Virgin Australia website at www.virginaustralia.com. 
  • To redeem the flights, the winner will be required to provide proof of personal ID e.g. the driver licence or Passport.
  • Once the flights have been booked, and if for any reasons, the Winner does not notify Virgin Australia at least 24 hours prior to scheduled departure that they are unable to take the booked flight at the time stipulated, their prize will be forfeited and cannot be redeemed for cash.
  • The Prize Flights will not earn Velocity points.
  • It is a Winner’s responsibility to ensure that they have requisite visas, vaccinations, valid documentation (including but not limited to valid passports and visas) which meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities at every destination. Any fines, penalties, payments or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be the sole responsibility of the Winner.
  • A Winner are responsible for all personal expenses including spending money, meals, drinks, transfers, laundry charges, activities, incidentals, taxes, energy surcharges, gratuities, service charges, passports, visas, travel insurance and all other ancillary costs. Travel insurance is highly recommended to protect against the additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances. 
  • The Promoter makes no representation and accountability as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination or as part of the prize. 
  • Entrants should seek independent financial advice to ensure they understand possible tax implications in relation to any tax liability and/or reportable fringe benefits before acceptance or use of a prize.
  • This is a game of chance in Lucky Draw and skill plays no part in determining the outcome.
  • Australian Chinese Daily and Virgin Australia reserves the right to change these terms and conditions without notice and at any stage during the promotion period.
  • Changes or Cancellation may incur charges from Virgin Australia apply. The winner is responsible to pay for any additional costs associated with changes or cancellations to the original booking requested by the winner.
  • The Promoter is collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting the Promotion, including providing any prize to you. If the Promoter cannot collect your personal information, we will not be able to enter you in the Promotion or provide you with a prize. The Promoter may also disclose your personal information to and/or collect your personal information from third parties who provide (or help the Promoter provide) products and services, including Virgin Australia, as described in the Promoter’s Privacy Policy (www.acd.com.au). Your personal information is only limited to the Australian Chinese Daily and Virgin Australia’s perusal for above purpose. The Promoter’s Privacy Policy also states how you can seek to access or correct your personal information and how to make a privacy complaint. 
  • Entrant’s personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and Winners’ names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoter.
